Bunny 22 February 2005

A couple of weeks ago someone stole my car - a diesel engined 1981 Volkswagen Rabbit. Really. The cops found it last week, it seems to be OK although the brakes are TRASHED - it needs a whole new brake system. (I just had it inspected in January, so I know they were good before hte Bunny was thefted.) It hasn't been driven since it's recovery a week ago, so hopefully once it has stopping power and we can drive it around it will prove to be OK.

The skanky crack-smoking loosers who stole my car also left a soda bottle and popsicle stick in it. Yay! Maybe we can grab some finger prints or DNA or whatever else it is they do. It took 3 phone calls and 4 days to get a response from the detective who does that; they could care less. I know it's a low-priority case for them, but at the same time if this were the mayor's car they certainly would try a lot harder.

So far, this experience has cost me upwards of $1000. And for what? So some jackasses could have fun for a few days. Sucks. Oh well.

In other news, Beaker's eye is finally getting better so that's good. Maybe by spring it will be healed. We can only hope... 9 months of constant care, thousands of dollars later... I won't know what to do with my free time or money when this is over.

A couple of days after my car was stolen I donated my web design services to Puppy Angels, a local charity affiliated with my vet that helps out poor animals in need. Although I felt lower than a snakes ass since my car was missing and I couldn't stop crying, I was really happy to help out these good people. In the end my web design didn't got for much, but it at least got them some money and I was glad to have been part of it.

More soon, I promise.
